Waël A.
Quantum Physicist | Experimental Researcher
/ˈwɑː.ɛl/ – person
The name Waël (وائل) has Arabic origins, meaning “the one who returns” or “seeker of refuge.”
Not refuge out of fear—but refuge from falsehood. From noise.
It is the instinct to withdraw from the superficial, to seek clarity over chaos, and to stand where truth feels stable.
In that sense, the name reflects more than heritage—it mirrors a way of thinking.
Reserved, yet exact. Calm, but deliberate. I don’t chase attention; I chase precision.
Whether in work or thought, I build from the ground up, slowly and intentionally—until what stands can’t easily be shaken.

Ph.D. Candidate
Institut Néel – SQC Team, Grenoble, France
I’m a quantum physicist and experimentalist, currently working on superconducting circuits—mainly fluxonium qubits. My work spans device design, circuit modeling, fabrication, and low-temperature measurements. I enjoy building complete experimental setup, combining theory with hands-on work in the lab.
What I Do
Design and simulate circuits (ABCD matrices, S-parameters, Sonnet, etc.)
Fabricate superconducting devices (cleanroom & nanofabrication)
Perform cryogenic measurements (dilution fridge, spectroscopy, time-domain)
Analyze complex quantum data with Python and numerical tools
Develop hardware/software for experimental automation

Hobbies
Outside of work, I enjoy fitness training, drawing, and reading. These activities help me stay focused, disciplined, and creatively engaged.
